Carbon Dioxide - The Problem
During one of earth's historic greenhouse environments, algae and terrestrial plants used carbon dioxide (CO2) as a food source and created the fossil fuels we use today and the oxygen rich atmosphere which allows us to live. We presently use fossil fuels as our main source of energy to drive the world economy. By unlocking the CO2 stored in fossil fuels through combustion, the atmosphere is slowly returning to the inhospitable greenhouse environment experienced in earth's history. There are many efforts to reduce and capture CO2; however, algae appear to offer the best solution for the problem once again. The solution to the problem is two-fold. We need to shift away from releasing CO2 safely stored as fossil fuels and develop renewable energy sources that offer a carbon neutral or carbon negative energy cycle. At Algaewheel, we strive to work with algae to meet both of these goals.

Algaewheel - The Solution
Algae solids represent a high value biomass; therefore, we recycle CO2 into the system to maximize algae production. Our system was designed to save as much as 75 percent energy which is equivalent to producing the same amount of energy. We can refine or directly process our biomass for high value energy products and in some applications can produce sufficient electricity to provide the balance of power needed for system operation. This off-the-grid approach is our solution to stepping away from fossil fuels and providing a carbon neutral and/or carbon negative operation. Owners also enjoy lower operation and maintenance costs and residual income from trading carbon credits and receiving carbon tax incentives.

Applications
There are many potential markets where the algaewheel system can be used as a solution to reducing greenhouse gases such as methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), and others.  We are working with wastewater treatment plant owners, concrete manufacturers, and coal powered electric plants to determine if Algaewheel is a cost effective solution to help reduce emissions at such operations.  Algaewheel is prepared to discuss your specific needs in reducing or eliminating the carbon footprint of your facility.  Please feel free to contact us to discuss options.
